The CEL/ELC Forum will bring together participants and more than 50 speakers from 10 different alliances. They will share their experiences, and reflections on the role of languages in the European University concept, on HELP (Language Policy in Higher Education), on strategies, methodologies and actions for the promotion of plurilingualism and on mutual understanding in a multilingual environment.
It will be a space to discuss the relevant role of languages in the promotion of European values and identities, addressing some important questions: Which new frameworks must be designed (and by who) for science communication, for knowledge transfer and multilingual needs? Which will be the role of languages in University Alliances’ strategies for interdisciplinary and intercultural approaches, maintaining different contextual linguistic, rhetorical, and disciplinary traditions?
Members of the Arqus Work Package 11 (Multilingualism), co-led by Leipzig University and Vilnius University, will hold two presentations on the activities developed in the first phase of the alliance, such as the Arqus Language Policy, the Arqus Café and the Arqus Termbase, as well as the activities planned for the next four years.
