With its Strategy 2030, Leipzig University is setting a forward-looking course. Its vision of a “comprehensive university of the future – committed to excellence, sustainable, connected and outward-looking, dynamic and innovative” encapsulates the strategic development goals to further develop the University as a top location for research, study, teaching, and knowledge and technology transfer. As Rector Professor Eva Inés Obergfell points out in her latest video statement: “Our Leipzig University faces immense challenges. We need to create new opportunities for ourselves to pursue our goals. With our Rectorate’s Strategy 2030 and its strategic development goals we now describe our way, the Leipzig Way, towards becoming a comprehensive university of the future.”
Important aspects therefore include participation in the Universities of Excellence funding line, strengthening interdisciplinary cutting-edge research, the quality-oriented further development of degree programmes, expanding the cooperation strategy and addressing requirements in the field of digital transformation. At the same time, there is a strong emphasis on sustainability and foresight in order to achieve the goals that have been set. Obergfell continues: “This strategic process has been supported by many members of the University community with their commitment and expertise. For this, I would like to express my deepest thanks.”
All members of the University are invited to take an active part in this development process by contributing their ideas. Please visit the University’s new strategic development website for more information about the strategic goals.
