Abstract

Anne-Marie Elbe is Professor of Sport Psychology at Leipzig University since 2018 and Vice Dean of the Faculty of Sport Science. Prior to this she was Associate Professor for Sport and Exercise Psychology at the University of Copenhagen (DK), and worked at Northumbria University, Newcastle (UK), and the University of Potsdam. She completed her doctorate at the Free University Berlin (2001) and her habilitation at the University of Potsdam (2005). Prof. Elbe's publications and research interests focus on motivational and volitional aspects of athletic performance, talent development in sport, doping prevention, and the integrative role of sport. She is Past President of FEPSAC (European Federation of Sport Psychology), member of the Scientific Board of ECSS (European College of Sport Science), Associate Editor for the journal Science and Medicine in Football and member of the Editorial Board of Psychology of Sport and Exercise. She is also a member of Leipzig University’s Ethics Board.

My teaching is research-based and is supported by e-learning. I teach students who are studying to become school teachers, in the Bachelor of Sport Science, Bachelor of Sport Management as well as in the Master’s in Diagnostics and Intervention. In addition, I teach in the International Trainer Course (ITK) at the University of Leipzig and supervise doctoral theses and postdoctoral theses in sport psychology. I am also involved in the development of the new International Master's degree programme in Sport and Exercise Psychology, which we hope will start in autumn 2021.
