Profile
Abstract
Sabine Steiner's research focuses on all aspects of vascular medicine, from basic research to clinical trials. She has made significant contributions to translational vascular research, including leading the Vascular Section of the Helmholtz Institute for Metabolism, Obesity, and Vascular Research (HI-MAG) in Leipzig. Additionally, she has conducted numerous studies ranging from first-in-human trials to multicenter Phase III trials in the field of endovascular treatment for patients with peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Her work includes projects such as the development of a large animal model for restenosis, extensive proteomic analyses of human plaques, direct comparative studies of new drug-eluting technologies, and the establishment of innovative interventional techniques.
