Are you planning to work in a (student) job or an internship in Germany? We want you to be aware of the most important basics in German work contracts.

When you are hired for a job you will be signing a work contract. Before you do so we would like you to know about the basic rights and obligations resulting out of a work agreement in Germany.

Topics included are:

  • work contract types (e.g. Minijob, Midijob, Werkstudent)
  • probationary periods
  • dismissal, annual leave, sick leave
  • social security insurance and taxes
  • minimum wage
  • collective agreements and trade unions

You are welcome to bring your questions.

Objective of the workshop:
Our goal is that you are able to estimate whether a work contract goes along with most of the German standards after the session.

Target group:
The event is designed for international students and graduates. The workshop takes place in English.
