At the end of your study stay abroad or your degree programme at Leipzig University, there are a few important steps to remember. We would also like to inform you about the international alumni network and your prospects after your studies – whether you want to start your career or spend time abroad.
Finishing your studies or your stay at Leipzig University
With the exmatriculation, you officially end your membership at our university when you have successfully completed your study stay abroad or your degree programme or leave our university for other reasons.
The exmatriculation takes place:
- After you have successfully completed your degree programme or at the end of your study stay abroad
Submit the application for exmatriculation for international students to the International Centre. - At an earlier point in time at your own request
You can apply to exmatriculate at any time effective at a chosen time. Submit the application for exmatriculation for international students for this purpose, as well. - If you do not re-enrol for your studies or do not do so by the deadline.
- If you fail your final attempt at an examination.
You will receive your exmatriculation certificate in your AlmaWeb account. We recommend that you save this document in a safe spot, as you may need it at a later time for official purposes.
Note: Your University log-in information and password will be deactivated four weeks after your exmatriculation. However, you can set up email forwarding so that you can continue to access AlmaWeb and thus your student documents.
You can receive credit at your home university for the coursework and examinations that you completed at our university as part of your study stay abroad or Erasmus+ stay.
For this purpose, submit all your proof of coursework, examinations and credits to your (Erasmus+) departmental coordinator at Leipzig University so they can issue a transcript of records that includes all the modules you passed with the marks from the courses.
Submit a copy of the transcript of records to the International Centre. Submit the transcript of records to the appropriate recognition office at your home university. Together, fill out the Erasmus+ document recognition results. Have the document signed and stamped. Send the International Centre a copy or scan of the document as soon as possible.
