"Picture a Scientist" is a documentary that explores mechanisms of discrimination in science. Following the screening, as part of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science on 11 February 2025, there will be an opportunity to discuss the film.

The film Picture a Scientist stirs up emotions, makes you angry and sad, and raises many questions. During the discussion following the film, there will be space for sharing thoughts and feelings about the film as well as any personal experiences. The discussion will be moderated by Nancy Nilgen (coordinator of the t.e.a.m. programme at the Office for Equality, Diversity and Family Affairs) and Cathleen Heil (consultant for academic staff development). There will be a change of venue between the film screening and the discussion.

We kindly ask for a respectful and appreciative approach to sharing experiences and contributions to the discussion.

Target group: all interested individuals, who know the movie.
Language: The discussion will be held in German. A switch to English will be possible if participants who are more comfortable with English are present.
