Abstract
Malin Wiese is a research and teaching associate and doctoral candidate in the research group Nature's Values at the Institute for Infrastructure and Resource Management (IIRM) of the Faculty of Economics and Management Science of Leipzig University. Already during her studies at the Justus Liebig University Giessen, the University of Potsdam, and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (USA), she has taken political and social sciences, geography, as well as environmental and climate sciences courses, alongside her focus on economics and quantitative methods. In her dissertation Malin Wiese investigates the interlinkages between the (global) economy, climate change, and ecosystems. Further, she is interested in the relationship between sustainability, inequality, and social justice.
In her dissertation, Malin Wiese analysis and quantifies the role of dynamic interactions between natural capital, the climate system, and economic development for economically optimal climate and nature conservation policy.

In the Nature's Values research group, Malin Wiese is responsible for the tutorials of the modules “Nature's Values” (Bachelor, regularly in the winter semester) and “Climate Economics” (Master, regularly in the summer semester). She also assists Junior Professor Martin Hänsel with the seminars for both modules.
