Abstract
Monica Berti has a Habilitation for Ancient History and Digital Humanities (Habilitation monograph: "Digital Editions of Historical Fragmentary Texts") and in the academic year 2021/22 has represented the professorship of Ancient History in the Historical Seminar of the University of Leipzig. She is also DFG leader of the project "Text-based Extraction, Analysis, and Annotation of Ancient Greek References to Authors and Works". Her research and teaching activities are in the fields of "Ancient History", "Digital Classics", "Digital History", "Digital Philology" und "Digital Humanities". She is currently working on digital fragmentary historiography and on Named Entity Recognition (NER) for ancient Greek and Latin. Monica Berti works in the fields of Ancient History, Classical Philology and Digital Humanities. In these subjects, she has published and led projects focusing on Greek History and Historiography, Greek Epigraphy and Digital Philology. She has also studied the Library of Alexandria and the tradition of Greek and Latin sources. In the field of Digital Philology and Digital Classics, Monica Berti works within the Open Greek and Latin (OGL) project at the University of Leipzig and the Perseus Digital Library. Monica Berti teaches courses in Ancient History, Digital Humanities, Digital Philology and Digital Classics. As part of her teaching activities, Monica is also program director of SunoikisisDC, which is an international consortium of Digital Classics programs developed in collaboration with the Harvard’s Center for Hellenic Studies and the Institute of Classical Studies of the School of Advanced Study at the University of London.
