Abstract
Since 2023, Dr. Tyler Colasante is Assistant Professor and Managing Director of the Humboldt Science Center for Child Development (HumanKind). His research focuses on digital innovations for children’s social-emotional thriving. He translates basic research into tailored educational technologies for promoting emotion regulation and empathy across development. Colasante was Managing Director, Research at the Center for Child Development, Mental Health, and Policy (CCDMP) in Canada (2020-2023). He received his PhD from the University of Toronto in 2017. In 2019/2020, he was awarded the APA Division 7 Dissertation Award (best dissertation in developmental psychology) and the AME Kuhmerker Dissertation Award (outstanding contribution to moral development research). He is currently the PI/Co-PI of two SAB/EU-funded projects leveraging educational technology to promote social-emotional development. He is also Committee Co-Chair of the ISSBD Developing Country Fellowships.
