Leipzig University condemns the terrorist attacks on Israel. Our thoughts are with our colleagues and the students of our five partner universities: the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Bar-Ilan University, the University of Haifa and Tel Aviv University. “We are deeply shocked by the terrorist attack by Hamas on Israel. I offer my sincere condolences to all the victims of the atrocities and their families,” says Rector Professor Eva Inés Obergfell.

The University has been in close contact with its students in Israel. All four German students have now returned to Germany. Leipzig University and its partner universities are also in regular contact about the situation.

There are currently 20 students from Israel and twelve students from the Palestinian territories enrolled at Leipzig University. International Centre advisers are always available to help students from the crisis areas who are currently studying here and need support.
